Polysorbate 80 acts as an emulsifier in food. An emulsifier binds ingredients together to prevent them from separating. It is most commonly used in the following foods:

What Are the Non-Food Sources of Polysorbate 80?
Cosmetics – used as a solubilizer. A solubilizer helps dissolve ingredients that do not easily dissolve. This makes the make-up look creamier and more attractive.
Vaccines – vaccines such as the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, also contain this dangerous additive.
Vitamins and Supplements – may be used as a preservative
Cancer Drug – it has also been used as a drug to treat cancer and kidney failure with devastating side effects.
What are the Side Effects of Polysorbate 80?
This versatile substance can cause a host of terrible side effects ranging from mild to severe. Side effects include, but are not limited to:
Allergic Reaction – sneezing, coughing, swelling, wheezing, shortness of breath, skin rashes, itching and pain.
