Treat Stomachache, Toothache, and Insect Stings with This Natural Remedy

When you think of charcoal, you probably think of summer cook-outs and barbeque. Did you know that charcoal can also be used to improve your health? Learn how activated charcoal can help with stomach trouble, food poisoning, toothache and more!

Stops Stomach Pain Fast

If you suffer from frequent gas, bloating, heartburn and indigestion, activated charcoal is a lifesaver. Activated charcoal works by absorbing excess stomach acid, gas and toxins in the gut and carrying them out undigested in the bowel movement.

Suffering with heartburn and can’t sleep? Pop a couple of activated charcoal capsules with a glass of water and you should feel better within 20 minutes.

If you have gluten intolerance and accidentally ingest gluten, taking a couple of activated charcoal capsules can help ease symptoms until the toxin can safely be eliminated by your body.

I’ve done this myself and it works.

Activated charcoal has also been used in cases of food and chemical poisoning and parents should keep it readily on hand.

Eases Tooth Pain

If you’re suffering from tooth infection, you’ve got no better friend than activated charcoal. An activated charcoal tooth pack can ease pain in a matter of minutes.

Here’s what you need to do:

• Break open an activated charcoal tablet in a shallow bowl

• Apply a few drops of water

• Make a paste

• Apply the paste to a piece of sterile gauze

• Place the mixture onto the affected tooth and gums and bite down

• Leave on for 20 minutes then spit it out

The activated charcoal will pull the infection and toxins from the tooth and gum, ease inflammation and help relieve pain. Clove oil can also be used to treat tooth infection naturally and ease pain.

Note: Should pain and infection continue, it is advisable to seek professional care as soon as possible.

Takes the Sting out of Bug Bites

Activated charcoal can also take the ouch out of summer bug bites and stings. Simply mix up a paste according to the above instructions and place it directly on the sting. The charcoal will draw out the venom and ease inflammation and pain.

As with any natural remedy, activated charcoal must be taken with care. It can cause dehydration so it must be taken with plenty of water. Also, do not take activated charcoal with other prescription or over-the-counter medications as it will interfere with absorption.

Milk decreases the effectiveness of activated charcoal so don’t eat or drink dairy when using it.

Side Effects

Side effects of activated charcoal might include pain and swelling of the stomach, constipation and vomiting.

Activated charcoal helps with stomach pain, accidental poisoning, tooth infection and insect bites. At under $8 per bottle, you can’t afford to be without it!
