22 Days Gluten-Free Nutrition Bars Review

Spread the love

I’ve been on a gluten-free diet for over 12 years now. In all that time, I have failed to find a gluten-free nutrition bar with more than 12 grams of protein (until now).

Having a gluten-free meal replacement bar is handy when you’re out somewhere and need a snack but have no safe options. But so many of them are not only lacking in filling protein and fat, they’re loaded with extra sugar and chemicals your body doesn’t need.

When I heard about The 22-Day Revolution, I checked it out and saw that part of their vegan meal delivery service included gluten-free nutrition bars containing 20 grams of protein. I got in contact and asked if I could try them out!

I told them that if they sent me some samples, I would do an unbiased review. Other than the samples, I have received no other compensation. My review comes from my honest feelings about these bars.

I tried three flavors.

Here is what I thought of each:

  1. Almond Butter Chocolate Chip

Out of the flavors I tried, this one is my favorite. It has a mild chocolatey smell. When you bite into it, the first thing you taste is the natural sweetness of the almonds, followed by a bit of tanginess from the dates. The almond flavor blends seamlessly with the chocolate and when you bite into a chocolate chip, you get a nice burst of flavor. The aftertaste is similar to what you’d experience if you’d just eaten a dark chocolate bar.

The texture of the bar is chewy, dense, and a bit gritty. But not in an “I’m eating sand” sort of way. More like a “This grit adds dimension and rubs pleasantly against my tongue and the roof my mouth” sort of way. Also, for some reason, this bar is really fun to chew.

I ate the bar with a small glass of whole milk. I felt completely full and satisfied and did not get hungry again for two hours.

  1. Quinoa Chocolate Chip Crisp

The smell of this bar is a blend of fruit and chocolate. When you bite into it, you experience a fruity and tangy flavor mixed with the sharp sweetness of dark chocolate.

There are fewer chocolate chips in this one, but they still deliver a flavorful burst when you find one. The aftertaste is fruity with a bit of tang lingering at the back of the throat.

The texture is chewy and smooth with a bit of crispy crunch from the quinoa. I had some water with this bar and felt full for an hour and a half afterward.

  1. Walnut Fudge Brownie

I have to say this was my least favorite of the bunch though it does have a light, fruity aroma and a mild flavor. The walnut flavor is very strong and lingers at the back of the throat, creating a chalky, bland aftertaste.

The texture of this bar is very dense, crunchy, and chewy. And when I say chewy, I mean it. If you need to strengthen your jaw, this bar is for you. I had this bar with a cup of tea sweetened with honey.

The best thing about this bar is that it contains a higher amount of calories and fat than the others, so I stayed full for over two hours. Bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts may get the most benefit from this particular flavor.

One of the things I really like about all of these bars is they’re 100 percent organic, non-GMO, vegan, gluten free, and even soy free. They have 20 grams of protein and up to 11 grams of fat and offer pure nutrition with no unnecessary additives or flavorings.

I think these bars are perfect for:

Most of us gluten-free folks always have food with us. 22 Days Nutrition Bars are filled with enough protein, fat, and fiber to stabilize your blood sugar until you can get a safe meal.

  • Health-Conscious Eaters

For the health-conscious eater, there’s nothing not to like about these bars. They may be one of the most wholesome nutrition bars out there.

  • Professionals on the Go

These bars are the perfect breakfast food or snack for busy professionals on the go. If you have one with your morning cup of coffee or tea, you won’t be as tempted to swing by the drive-thru and pick up a doughnut.

  • Busy Moms

Busy moms are just that, busy. If you find yourself stopping at fast-food restaurants a lot, it’s likely because you don’t have the time to prepare three healthy meals for yourself each day. These bars, paired with fruit, and a cup of Greek yogurt can be the waist-friendly alternative you’ve been looking for.

  • Fitness Enthusiasts

Fitness enthusiasts and bodybuilders can use one of these bars for a burst of energy before a workout or for muscle recovery afterward. Either way, all the nutrition you need is right there in one place.

All in all, I think 22 Days Nutrition Bars are great. They’re tasty, healthy, quick, and convenient. I highly recommend them.
