    Dear Jamie,
My name is Susan,I sort of met you on another website and you left the name of this website. I loved the name of this website so much,I remembered it and came to take a look today.I think it is great!
I am not a medical provider in anyway. I am a chronic pain sufferer and a pharmaceutical sales specialist. I suffered from many of the symptoms you listed on your home page. When I was 16 years old,my parents took me to a doctor for my stomach aches. The doctor told my parents I was a teenager and teenagers get stomach aches. The pains were all in my head.I was always exhausted and in my college years I would become very confused, forgetting names and directions, not sure my legs would catch me when I stepped down a step. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my early 30′s.Finally, when I was 40 , I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia but it means I had a major b12 vitamin deficiency. This could be a huge part of the reason I have FMS.My body will just not absorb the vitamin naturally. Now I give myself a shot every 3 weeks and it has helped me more than I can say.
I just want to let you, and anyone else who may be looking for help, not to forget looking for vitamins that may be missing. Many medical providers have been looking extra at vitamins D and K lately as well.
Best Wishes for Good Health to All!

Thank you for your site. The heading alone caught my attention. I have been vomiting for weeks off and on. Now the vomiting is daily after any and everything I eat or drink. I continue you lose weight but now one seems to get it. I have been to 3 different doctors and still feel terrible. I now headed to the GI doctor to see what his findings will be. I appreciate you letting me share this information.

    Hello Ray,

Thank you. I’m glad you like the site and the name. It just came to me a couple of years ago that it’s exactly how I felt when I found out I had gluten intolerance and was not “crazy” like it had been suggested. Send me an email: jaimeheidel@yahoo.com and we’ll talk about your doing a guest post for the site!

Ive been sick for 5 years with widespread pain, flu like symptoms, chronic fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations, muscle weakness, ect…
The dr’s and numerous speacalists have found nothing except a severly high vitamin d level and a slightly positive ANA.
They just want to put me on antidepressants. I know its not in my head. Something invaded my body 5 years ago, I just know it. Like when someone comes down with the flu, they know a virus is in their body! I havem’t been able to get anyone to listen to me or help me until recently a sleep disorder specialist has taken me seriously.
Has anyone out there had this same process and symtoms. I have three beautiful children and a wonderful supportive husband who worried for me. Im NOT depressed, I just want to be better! Pls help, advice welcomed!
    Thx

    Hi Melissa,

I’ve recently started a new discussion board if you’d like to join: http://s3.excoboard.com/IToldYouIWasSick

A severely high vitamin D level? Meaning your levels are too high?

It could be something you’re eating, something in your environment, a drug you’re taking, or a vitamin deficiency. Your immune system may be out of whack due to low gut bacteria from a previous round of antibiotcs. I would recommend visiting a naturopathic physician and getting a complete head-to-toe workup, including blood work to test for allergies or vitamin deficiencies. You’re not crazy. I’ve been exactly where you are. Join the forum and keep me posted!

Please help me, I need someone to explain to me how they felt/what they did or didn’t remember during extreme behavioral episodes. My son is six and is finally being tested for Celiac and food allergies. He was on soy formula as a baby and has always had a very limited diet, as far as foods he agreed to eat. Family members believe it was lack of variety being offered…i believe certain foods didnt hurt his belly as much so he refused alot of things. He started getting these violent, screaming, eyes rolling in the back of his head, out of control episodes a couple of years ago. I can see he is just beaten down emotionally by the constant reprimanding from certain family members who think I am just trying to justify his “bad behavior due to my lack of discipline”. The problem is, it has become a vicious cycle of CONSTANT discipline followed by anger, confusion, tears and fighting back from my boy who has always been remarkably kind, sweet, loving, and helpful…this is not the boy I know. And the rest of my family insists he is just belligerent b/c I don’t punish him hard enough to impress upon him the need to control himself, behave, and respect his adults. They tell him he is a “smart boy who does stupid things”, or “doesn’t think before he acts”, or “sat on his brain” or is “out of control and being ridiculous”…with each ridicule I see the pain and frustration in my son’s eyes and it is killing me. He has just recently begun to be a target for bullys at school. I believe it is b/c he is feeling bullied at home. I’ve lay awake countless nights holding my boy while he sleeps crying silently into my pillow with fear for his emotional well-being. How can I explain to him that others feel what he does and how my changing his diet will make it stop? Can someone give me the words to describe to him what he feels during these tirades, during his abdominal pain, reflux, and episodes where he vomits? If I can describe to him how he feels, maybe he will feel better about himself and be psyched to “fix” the problem with a diet change…

    Hello Beth,

I am so sorry you and your son are going through all this. I think food allergy elimination is a great place to start. As far as convincing him to do the diet, good luck. There’s no reasoning with a six-year-old, especially a six-year-old with behavioral problems. You just have to do it. Eat the same things he does and that may help. Do the diet with him. I would suggest cutting all gluten and processed foods from his diet. Food dyes have been shown to cause extreme aggression in children. Think whole foods. If you’re not sure what the difference is, check out this link here: http://itoldyouiwassick.info/2012/06/06/the-difference-between-whole-food-and-processed-food/

As far as being able to explain things to him and learning how to deal with his difficult behaviors, I recommend this book on Democratic Parenting: http://tinyurl.com/6798vb8 I read an earlier print of the book a couple of years ago and it’s a great step-by-step holistic way to help your child with behavioral issues.

I also put out my own E-Book in 2010 about childhood behavioral problems and food allergies because I was that child. Here is a link to it as well: http://freepdfhosting.com/7b290b3869.pdf

I’d also recommend having him evaluated by a neurologist. He may have developmental delays or be on the autistic spectrum. Vaccines and low gut bacteria have been known to also contribute to these unusual behaviors. You may also think about taking him to a naturopathic doctor or homeopath to find out the best natural courses of action in dealing with his behavioral problems.

If his stomach is often in pain, I would think gluten intolerance would be to blame, especially if there are also behavioral issues. Also, don’t rely on allergy testing. Do the diet. Allergy testing can often come back negative and you’re back to square one.

I wish you and your son the best with this.

    Love and light,

    Jaime
