Celiac Disease (Gluten Intolerance)
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic diarrhea, mucus in stools, sudden weight loss, abdominal cramping, flatulence, brain fog, muscle pain and skin rashes. Gluten intolerance may also lead to anxiety, irritability and insomnia. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and oats.
Those with gluten intolerance cannot digest this protein, resulting in the above symptoms. To test if gluten is causing your diarrhea, remove it from your diet completely for one month then reintroduce it.
